ÁLBUM DA QUINTA

YEAR OF THE CAT - 1976 - AL STEWART

Year of the Cat é o sétimo álbum de estúdio do escocês Al Stewart, lançado em 1976, e é considerado sua obra-prima. As vendas foram catapultadas pelo single "Year of the Cat", canção sobre uma misteriosa mulher, parceria com Peter Wood, que rendeu um disco de platina. O outro single do álbum foi "On the Border".

O álbum foi gravado nos estúdios de Abbey Road, em Londres, e produzido por Alan Parsons, que dois anos antes produzira The Dark Side of the Moon, do Pink Floyd.

DAY AFTER DAY (1977) ALAN PARSONS

Sérgio Luiz Gallina

Alan Parsons nasceu em Londres em 20 de dezembro de 1948. Produtor de discos, atuou como engenheiro de som no estúdio Abbey Road, onde trabalhou em produções dos Beatles e no disco The Dark Side of the Moon, do Pink Floyd.

Lançado pela Arista Records, I Robot (1977), baseado na série Os Robôs, de Isaac Asimov, que explora temas filosóficos sobre inteligência artificial, é o segundo álbum da banda The Alan Parsons Project.

And picture a memory
Of days in your life
You knew what it meant to be happy and free
With time on your side
----
Remember your daddy
When no one was wiser
Your ma used to say
That you would go further than he ever could
With time on your side
----
Think of a boy with the stars in his eye
Longing to reach them but frightened to try
Sadly, you'd say, someday, someday
----
But day after day
The show must go on
And time slipped away
Before you could build any castles in Spain
The chance had gone by
----
With nothing to say
And no one to say it to
Nothing has changed
You've still got it all to do
Surely you know
The chance has gone by
----
Think of a boy with the stars in his eye
Longing to reach them but frightened to try
Sadly, you'd say, someday, someday
----
But, day after day
The show must go on
And you gaze at the sky
And picture a memory of days in your life
With time on your side
----
With time on your side
(day after day the show must go on)...

THE YEAR OF THE CAT (1976) AL STEWART

Sérgio Luiz Gallina

Produzido por Alan Parsons e lançado em 1976,
Year of the Cat é o sétimo disco do compositor britânico
Al Stewart (5/9/1945).
Sucesso de vendas e execução,
o álbum lhe rendeu um disco de platina

In a country where they turn back time

You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
Contemplating a crime
----
She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolour in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came
In the year of the cat
----
She doesn't give you time for questions
As she locks up your arm in hers
And you follow 'till your sense of which direction
Completely disappears
----
By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls
There's a hidden door she leads you to
These days, she says, I feel my life
Just like a river running through
The year of the cat
----
She looks at you so cooly
And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea
She comes in incense and patchouli
So you take her, to find what's waiting inside
The year of the cat
----
Well, morning comes and you're still with her
And the bus and the tourists are gone
And you've thrown away the choice and lost your ticket
So you have to stay on
But the drum-beat strains of the night remain
In the rhythm of the new-born day
You know sometimes you're bound to loose her
But for now you're going to stay
In the year of the cat
