Starman é uma canção de David Bowie, lançada como single em abril de 1972 A faixa foi tardiamente incluída no álbum The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, por insistência de Dennis Katz, da RCA Records, que ouvira uma demo eachou que seria um ótimo single.

Em 1988, a banda gaúcha Nenhum de Nós lançou uma versão chamada Astronauta de Mármore, no disco Cardume, que fez enorme sucesso.

TRANSFORMER - 1972 - LOU REED

Transformer é o segundo álbum de Lou Reed, lançado em dezembro 1972. O disco foi produzido por David Bowie e Mick Ronson, ambos influenciados pelo trabalho de Reed com o Velvet Underground. 

Bowie tinha referenciado o Velvet Underground nas notas de capa de seu álbum Hunky Dory. Mick Ronson (que na época era o guitarrista principal da banda de Bowie, Spiders from Mars) desempenhou um papel importante na gravação do álbum no Trident Studios, servindo como co-produtor e músico de sessão primária (contribuição de guitarra, piano, Gravador e backing vocals), bem como arranjador, nomeadamente contribuindo com o arranjo de corda luxuriante para "Perfect Day".

Reed elogiou a contribuição de Ronson no episódio Transformer da série documental Classic Albums, elogiando a beleza de seu trabalho. As músicas do LP estão entre as obras mais conhecidas de Reed, incluindo "Walk on the Wild Side", "Perfect Day" e "Satellite of Love", eo sucesso comercial do álbum o elevou do status de culto para se tornar uma estrela internacional.

Em 1997, Transformer foi nomeado o 44º melhor álbum de de todos os tempos em uma pesquisa musical do Millennium realizado no Reino Unido. Também está em 55º na lista da NME dos "Melhores álbuns de todos os tempos". Em 2003, o álbum ficou em 194º na lista da revista Rolling Stone dos "500 maiores álbuns de todos os tempos". Está também na lista da revista Q dos "100 maiores álbuns de todos os tempos".

Let's Spend The Night Together é uma canção escrita por Mick Jagger e Keith Richards e originalmente lançado em um single dos Rolling Stones, com "Ruby Tuesday", em 1967. Ela também aparece como a abertura na versão americana do álbum Between the Buttons.

Uma das várias versões da canção foi feita por David Bowie no álbum Aladdin Sane, de 1973. Foi lançada como single, como lado B do hit Lady Grinning Soul, mas não alcançou a o topo das paradas.

David Bowie é o segundo álbum de estúdio do músico inglês, lançado sob esse título pela Philips, no Reino Unido, e como Man of Words/Man of Music, pela Mercúrio, nos EUA, em novembro de 1969. Todas as composições são de autoria de Bowie.

Foi relançado em 1972 pela RCA como Space Oddity (o título da faixa de abertura, que tinha sido lançada como single em julho de 1969 e chegou a No. 5 no UK Singles Chart). Space Oddity, como ficou consagrado, foi o nome usado para lançamentos do CD em 1984, 1990 e 1999, mas voltou para o título original para uma reedição em 2009.

A canção Space Oddity foi lançada como single em julho de 1969. A música é sobre o lançamento ao espaço do Major Tom, um astronauta ficcional. O título faz alusão ao filme "2001: Uma Odisséia no Espaço", de Stanley Kubrick, e a introdução é um instrumental build-up quase inaudível, análogo ao tom de baixo profundo em Also sprach Zarathustra, que é utilizada no filme. A letra é uma sátira ao programa espacial britânico.
