King Crimson, o Rei Escarlate, banda britânica de rock progressivo liderada pelo guitarrista Robert Fripp, teve ilustres músicos, como o baixista Greg Lake, que depois integrou o Emerson, Lake & Palmer, o saxofonista Mel Collins, que depois foi para o Camel, o baterista Bill Bruford, vindo do Yes, entre tantos virtuoses.
